Simply listed: 1. Kite (probably 3-5 meters to start, on a bar system) 2. Harness 3. Snowboard (twin-tip) or Skis 4. Cold Weather Clothing 5. Helmet You can find the bottom three items at your local sporting goods shop. I believe that the retail world starts selling winter gear around October. The kite and harness are most easily found online (if you have a local kite shop, go there---because speaking with someone in person is worth the sales-tax). I suggest practicing with your kite frequently: find an open field, clear of both upwind and especially downwind obstructions. Fly your kite and get a feel for its power and how it handles. A kiteboarding instructor is worth the money... I guarantee losing your kite or bodily damage is more expensive than an instructor. Good luck! -Eric |

I second the kiting instructor part, it's worth it. |
