Snowkiters vs. Reindeer ... is this an issue?
I've read a few articles about about snowkiters affecting Reindeer habitat in Norway. The study concludes that snowkiters should be managed while in Reindeer territory, and that further study is needed. Here's a link to Outside Magazine's blog post on the topic:

Re: Snowkiters vs. Reindeer ... is this an issue?
Wait, will this affect me getting a new kite from Santa this year?
On a side note - Cattle in pens freak out if a kite gets close. Must be instinct from when their smaller predecessors were hunted by large raptors. This is a good reason why we should all keep away from farmsteads. Out in the open, cattle just kind of move to the other end of the field at mild pace.
That said, I am for eliminating sidewalks as they tend to kill ants when people walk down them. Pencils are also know for misspelling words. And a reindeer that eats 7% less will be leaner and meaner so they can avoid the thunderbirds.

Lol... Don't worry. Santa's reindeer will be lighter this year, so they'll be able to haul more kites. I consider myself pro-reindeer on most issues, but I think you're right about it possibly be taken too far.
Someone, let's just call him James, pointed out that this was probably in response to the Red Bull Ragnarok's snowkite "hordes":
By the way, I also refuse to use pencils because of their propensity to misspell words. My word processor doesn't have that issue for some reason.
